Tetris - The Tetris SiteYou may not see it but Tetris is the most played game of all times. So we decided to create this tribute to Tetris. In this small website you can find the most common online tetris games, the history , reviews of tetris games from the old ones to the most recent ones and much more. Everyone knows Tetris. Tetris was one of the first games played all over the planet, and Tetris was already played in space... Tetris has more versions for PC, consoles, PDA or phones than any other electronic game ever made… And what is the magic behind Tetris, well Tetris is a simple game, falling Tetris pieces (tetrominoes, from the Greek “tetra” that means four, let us just call them “Tetris pieces”) with different configurations, that the player has to manipulate and place together to form a complete line that then disappears from the screen. Tetris is simple, and yet so fun and addictive to play. Tetris was designed and created in old URSS, in June 1985. The original author of Tetris was Alexey Pajitnov, assisted by Dmitry Pavlovsky and Vadim Gerasimov. Computer engineers, Alexey Pajitnov and Dmitry Pavlovsky worked together at the Dorodnicyn Computing Center, the Computer Center of the URSS Academy of Sciences, while Vadim Gerasimov was still at High School ( he had only 16 by the time the game was created), but he was already a computer whiz with a great knowledge in MS DOS.
While Tetris is a well known game in almost every country in the world, and with a lot of different versions for video game console and computer operating systems, Tetris still was never patented because at the time of its creation, the intellectual property rights were not established in the communist URSS for private individuals.
